Attorney-at-law, Member of the Athens Bar Association admitted in 1983, licensed to practice before the Greek Supreme Court since 1996.
Holds a Bachelor’s degree in law from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (1981) and a Master’s Degree (LL.M.) in International Legal Studies (1985) from New York University in New York (J.D. Pateras Foundation scholar).
Completed his articles in Athens ιn 1983 and continued as a trainee at a law firm in New York (1983-1985). From 1986 to 1992 he worked as an associate lawyer in Piraeus. In 1993 he started his own legal practice.
He handles civil law (contracts, real property, wills and estates) and commercial law (corporate, insurance, maritime and land transport) matters as well as related litigation. He also handles public service contract matters. He counsels and represents both individual and corporate clients.
Over the period of years, he has participated in a number of legal committees and associations such as those of the Greek Shipowners Union, the Hellenic Chamber of Shipping, the Hellenic Association of Consulting Firms, the Hellenic Association for the Study of Technology and Construction Law, the International Bar Association (Committees on Maritime & Transport Law and International Construction Projects) and the American Foreign Law Association.
For a period of 10 years (2004 to 2014) he has been a member of the legislative committee for the ratification by Greece of the Convention on Cybercrime, (“Budapest” Convention) drawn up by the Council of Europe and of Directive 2013/40/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of 12 August 2013 on attacks against information systems.
He has served as a member of the Investigating Board of Marine Casualties (“ASNA”).
He has published an article on “The concurrent jurisdiction of transactions” at the law journal Dike 11 (1980).
He speaks English and French and rudimentary Russian and German.
